Digital wellbeing and Technostress
As is the case in everyday life in our society, we are constantly faced with the need to make choices and select the best course of action, taking into account the advantages and disadvantages of each of these options.
The constant presence of screens and devices, often permanently connected, can lead students and teachers to suffer from information overload and/or digital fatigue. Besides the challenges and threats it poses, digital education offers powerful tools for the professional and personal development of those who learn, but also of those who guide that learning.
Therefore, the biggest challenge will be to use digital education in a healthy and balanced way, taking advantage of the added value it brings to improve the learning and teaching process:
How can we manage screen time effectively, avoiding technostress?
How can we balance the protection of personal data with active participation in the proposed activities?
How can we guarantee individual well-being without interfering with the well-being of others?
What strategies can be used to guarantee support for learners, without this meaning an infringement on the teacher's time and space?
How can teachers' skills be improved in order to innovate their teaching processes?
The aim of the workshop is to give participants an understanding of what digital wellbeing and stress is and for them to work in groups on how to recognise symptoms, know which self-assessment tools are available and discuss practical solutions to ensure digital wellbeing.
